Building on the success of last year's Ashtanga Summer School, Yoga Hana is proud to announce the 2017 Summer School dates. Ashtanga Summer School is a two week dive into the depths of the Ashtanga Practice. The day will start with three hours of Mysore in the morning, followed by Philosophy, lunch, an afternoon course and finishing with two hours of Mysore in the evening, Yoga Hana is offering a unique chance to focus on one's practice. With seated meditation, pranayama and asana, we will spend time integrating the limbs of Ashtanga Yoga into a cohesive system of health and well being. Where? Classes are being given at Yoga Hana. 5413 BOUL ST LAURENT MONTREAL QC H2T 1S5. Yoga Hana will be dedicated to this course for the entire two weeks and closed to regular classes.
When? Class starts on Monday morning, July 3rd at 05:30. The class schedule is below. Class will end on Friday, July 14th at 18:00. Students may attend for one or two weeks, though preference is given to those applying for the full course.
Who is this course for? This course is open to all students of Ashtanga yoga who are looking for time to deepen their practice and focus on Yoga. Open to students and teachers alike, to those with a well-developed practice looking to have a deep focus for a bit, as well as newer students looking to build a strong foundation in their practice. Students of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend as a well rounded group is best for everyone.
What materials do I need? 2 weeks before the start of the course, a syllabus and reading list will be sent out. Students are encouraged to start their readings before they arrive. Students are required to have a mat, and any necessary towels. You will most likely sweat so plan accordingly.
May I leave my mat at the studio? Each student will be assigned a cube in the mat cabinet. Students are welcome to leave their mat. Yoga Hana is not responsible for any lost of stolen items. Please do not leave food overnight.
Will the room be heated? No, but summers in Montreal can be quite warm, so drink a lot of water and plan accordingly. It is wise to bring changes of clothes.
Who may attend: Students should be familiar with the Ashtanga Yoga Method and are encouraged to have a regular Mysore practice. Those new to the practice are welcome to attend Yoga Hana at least two weeks prior to the start of the course. All current students of Yoga Hana are welcome and encouraged to attend. Students should be of good overall health. Please do advise about any health concerns you would like us to know about.
What else? This course is being taught in an intensive format. With two asana classes a day, as well as classwork Students should do their best to make this their only priority to get the most out of the course.
Cost: $900.00 for the entire 2 week program.
$550.00 for 1 week. Preference will be given to those attending for the entire program.

This not a teacher training or certification course. It is an opportunity for students and teachers to deepen their own practice in an intensive format. No certifications, awards, diplomas, or authorizations will be given.
